Odd Strandbakken, a native of Norway, has become a luminary in the field of mixology, spearheading the development of Scandinavian cocktail culture. Odd's passion for the craft was refined during his time at HIMKOK, his bar in Oslo. Here, he embarked on a personal odyssey to forge a distinct style that emphasizes the use of locally sourced, top-quality ingredients to manifest the region's unique terroir.

Using house-made products instead of manufactured ones quickly became a cornerstone of Odd's approach, allowing him to imbue his cocktails with an unparalleled sense of authenticity and drawing upon culinary techniques gathered from far-reaching corners of the world.

Driven by an insatiable curiosity, Odd has embarked on a globetrotting quest, living in and visiting 42 countries to immerse himself in the world's finest hospitality and cocktail scenes. These expeditions have given him invaluable expertise in distillation, fermentation, brewing, and preserving produce. Armed with this comprehensive knowledge, he continuously pushes boundaries, setting new standards in the realm of mixology.

Presently, Odd Strandbakken works alongside his wife, Alyssa Heidt Four Seasons Hotels, overseeing the Food & Beverage properties within the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel portfolio. In this role, he presides over the globally acclaimed Charles H., a World’s Best Bar, and the trendy Korean hotspot OUL.

Recognized for his ability to capture the essence of a locale in liquid form, Odd is a catalyst for innovation within the industry, propelling mixology to unprecedented heights. His relentless dedication and mastery earned him numerous accolades, notably the coveted title of World Champion at the Cherry Heering 200th Anniversary Cocktail Competition 2018.
